Eva Chen is a new yorker full of style, she’s one of these “fashion characters”, and I say this in the most positive way, you can always count on her for inspirations, just search – “Eva Chen” + “street style”. Her style is impecable, the result of an harmonious balance between a sporty and quirky style and a down-to-heart spirit that doesn’t mind repeating outfits during the same “fashion week season”.
She first became known for being editor-in-chief of Lucky magazine, she was personally appointed to this position by Anna Wintour, creative director of Condé Nast. Like a lot of people in the fashion business, Eva started as a pre-med student at Johns Hopkins University until she realized her true place, fashion. She stood out among other editors because of her no-nonsense attitude, she’s one of the most friendly women in the business, this approachability resulted in a huge social-media following.
I urge you to follow her on Instagram for two reasons, her instagram is where she shares one of my favorite OOTD types of photos, the “I’m in the back of the car, check out my shoes and bag of the day”, it’s original and the sort of photo you can expect from someone that doesn’t really have the time to pose on a beautiful garden or to find the perfect graffitied wall for the background. The second reason, and the main one, is that she has taken on the job of head of fashion partnerships for Instagram (take a look at some of Eva’s favorite instagram accounts here). Given the importance of Instagram for the fashion business, Chen is now one of the most important people in the business.
