June magazines

Fashion magazines are my safe haven and These June issues grabbed my attention.

Most of the times I’m one of those people that prefers to buy a magazine instead of clothes. This can be difficult to understand, if you love clothes and the purpose of the magazines is to talk about them, wouldn’t you prefer to own them in the place of a magazine with only pictures? Well, the thing is you can love fashion, clothes and accessories but have only ten items of clothes in your closet. These magazines have a different purpose, one that complements clothes. They are my main source of inspiration, for outfits, trends, design and posts. You can have a full closet and still feel like you don’t know what to wear because you aren’t inspired to build a look.

When I’m feeling low on inspiration I treat myself to a new magazine, it always works. My favorite magazines and the ones I buy every month are Porter from Net-a-Porter, Vogue Uk and Vogue Spain and Harper’s Bazaar Uk and Spain. Then there are others I also love but that are more difficult to find and are also “trés expensive”, Kinfolk, System and So It Goes.

Yesterday was one of those days that I found myself hitting my head on the wall trying to have good ideas for the content of this blog. I think you can tell by me style of posts that I’m as spontaneous as can be, there isn’t too much planning involved. I have some series on the blog (Five from, Brand allure etc) but most of my posts are reflexions on current obsessions, cravings, trends that have caught my attention and so on. It’s a “what you  see is what you get” kind of aproach. I resorted to these magazines to find inspiration and I ended up using them for this post. Two of my favorite covers of the season, Siena Miller in a blue invigorating cover and Guinevere Van Seenus wearing a Dolce & Gabbana shirt and dress in a green banana leaf-printn against a background full of leaves, how great is that?

Which magazines do you reed?
