I’ve been doing some shopping and these are a few of the things I’ve been trying out this past week.
I pretty much brought all my make up and skincare with me to New York but I’ve already run out of some things so I decided to try some brands and products that I couldn’t find in Portugal. I took advantage of the great travel sizes every Sephora has here to experiment some cult products.
I bought the Sephora Favorites – Ready, Set, Style! Styling Spray Collection, a collection of travel-size styling sprays to add texture and volume to my hair, not that I need any extra volume, but sometimes that first day after you wash your hair it is really difficult to style it, everything just looses shape and I wanted something to fix that. The few texturizing sprays I ever tried in Portugal I absolutely hated, the feeling they left on the hair was so drying that I just trew everything out when I came here. This time I knew some great brands that had these type of products and I felt I could trust them so I went to a Sephora to buy the OUAI Haircare Texturizing Hair Spray because Esteé Lalonde spoke so well of it. As soon as I went in I saw this set of Sephora Favorites that had the OUAI Spray (it rhymes, I wonder if that was on purpose) and this DRYBAR Detox Dry Shampoo, I had no doubts. I knew I would probably never going to run out of these sprays because I only wear them on some occasions so I might as well take advantage of these travel sizes, so far I love every single spray from the set.
Another great travel-size product available is this Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. I’ve always wanted to try this product because when I felt that this was exactly what I need from a foundation, although this is not technically a foundation it has light coverage and for those days that I feel my skin is looking good I prefer to use these light products and show it off. Actually a few weeks ago a total stranger complimented me on my skin and I felt so proud because it really takes good discipline to take care of it. Off course right now I have a huge zit on my chin that would never attract such complements but hey, we have to work with what we have. The second item on this photo I actually justified picking up while in line to pay because first it’s too so cute in this small size and second because I have a huge zit on my chin, have I said that before? My current concealer isn’t too strong and I appreciate that because I hate heavy concealers for daily make up, so I found that I had nothing to cover this little friend on my chin. I bought the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in my skin tone, instead of brighter shade, because I will use it to conceal this b****. If I feel the finish is good I will upgrade my concealer to this one when the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer runs out.
Finally, once again I am my biggest fan and after I wrote this post I felt I needed to buy one of the products I recommended. A cream with repairing ingredients because americans apparently love extreme air conditioning, you’re either too warm or freezing cold, and my skin is starting to look dry on some places so I went for this First Aide Beauty Ultra Repair Cream that has Ceramides has one of its main ingredients. Ceramides are essential to replenish the skin and protect it so this baby is now on my nightstand. it’s a great product for sensible skin because it has no paragons, no harsh chemicals and no fragrance.
